Shoes in Public Places

Ok...........I just cannot stand it a moment longer. In a world that is rapidly scaring me, I have to let go for a moment and ponder something truly important....Just exactly how do pairs of shoes end up on telephone and power lines at intersections? How does this phenomenon occur?

Is it a drunkened moment in time, in a dusty, worn out Ford Escort, full of acne-faced teens trying to be hip on a dare with one another? Is it actually full grown adults, possibly drunker than coots, letting go of their inhibitions and tossing their shoes to the wind? Are they using their shoes as their souls and asking the universe to answer them in life's quests? Is it an offering of sorts to the shoe gods?

Do these shoes represent one's life and their wishes to be free, but able to watch the world go by from above? Perhaps these shoes are not anything at all....but that, tired, worn out shoes needing a place to rest for shoe eternity. If these shoes indeed reprensent anything, are they replaceable? Does one have to replace them with like kind and quality or does one upgrade in hopes it keeps the shoe gods happy?

Understandably, I know this is not the most important issue in my life, nor anyone elses...I just can't seem to think there's more than meets the shoes....what if they really do have a sole....oops, soul and they're simply waiting for the re-souling of life?

Don't I wish it were that easy.................
